Overview
Trips Ahoy helps you maintain boating records, float plans, fleet details, passenger information, trip history, photos, and cloud-backed data. We collect and use information only to provide, secure, support, and improve those features.
Information You Provide
You may provide account details such as email address and sign-in credentials, boat information, registration or equipment notes, passenger names and contact details, trip notes, fuel and distance entries, float plan details, photos, and app settings.
Location And Trip Data
Trips Ahoy may store coordinates, route details, trip timing, and related location records when you enter them, map a trip, build a float plan, or sync supported activity data. This information can be sensitive because it may describe where you travel, dock, launch, or return.
Cloud Sync And Garmin Integration
When cloud sync or connected activity features are enabled, Trips Ahoy may process synced boating records, media references, device-derived activity details, and account identifiers needed to connect records to your account. Trips Ahoy uses this data to keep your records available across supported devices and to show activity context inside the app.
How Information Is Used
We use your information to authenticate your account, save and sync records, display trip and fleet history, support sharing workflows, protect the service, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability. We do not sell your information to any party.
Data Sharing
Trips Ahoy may use service providers for authentication, cloud storage, database hosting, app distribution, diagnostics, and infrastructure. Those providers process information only as needed to operate the service. You may also choose to share float plans, backups, or exported records with people outside Trips Ahoy. Trips Ahoy does not control your data after it has been shared.
Retention And Deletion
Trips Ahoy keeps records while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete app records from within the app where supported. Account deletion workflows are intended to remove or disconnect cloud records associated with your account, subject to backups, security logs, legal obligations, and technical limits.
Security
Trips Ahoy uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for account and cloud-backed data. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should avoid storing information you do not want kept in a boating logbook.
Children
Trips Ahoy is not intended for children. Do not create an account or enter passenger details for a child unless you have the legal right to do so.
Policy Updates
We may update this draft policy as Trips Ahoy evolves. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date when finalized.
